Muslihudin Sharbinie, M.Sc., MBGPH (Indonesia)
I am Uli. My motto is "to live is to care and share". I am concerned about the environment and living beings, and share with them what I have, compassion. My educational background is an agricultural diploma at Bogor Agricultural University, undergraduate program at Open University majoring in English , and Magister Science (M.Si) from University of Indonesia. My profession is a teacher and I teach in some schools, some of which I am teaching voluntarily. I am happy to help the community by providing them with access to education.
My motto was implemented by the established a foundation. In 2012 I establihed Diva Foundation, working on providing access to education for children who are less fortunate. Institutions that have been running are Education for Disability Children, Tourism Vocational School and Social Work (street and abandoned children). Caring for nature and animals is my other concern. To that end, in 2015 I created KOPAS, a Community Care for Nature and Animals. It is a non-governmental organization working on protecting of nature and the improvement of animal welfare through education, training, and other similar efforts. Currently KOPAS has built a home for stray cats.
Ethics is one area that is very interesting to me. For that, it is a good opportunity to follow the Master of Bioethics and Public Health at American University of Sovereign Nations (AUSN), Arizona, USA. I am proud to be part of AUSN. My new world.
Lana al-Shareeda Le Blanc, MA, MBGPH, PhD (Iraq)
Lana al-Shareeda Le Blanc is Assistant General Manager, SEATE Services in Bangkok, Thailand. The firm is Internet sales agent for the White Lotus Press and several other publishing houses. SEATE Services also provides English-Arabic translations plus English-language proofreading and editing. She has previously worked for UN/ESCAP HQs, Bangkok, Thailand as an Arabic language instructor; advisor and cultural expert at UNESCO Regional HQs, Bangkok, Thailand on the Arabic-Asian Dialogues Project and other programs; a sub-contractor for UNICEF-Middle East doing major translations of assorted Middle East national educational manuals and plans. Lena also worked as a high school English language instructor for ten-years; Deputy Group Chairman of Saif al-Fekar Group both in Basra, Iraq and Quality Control/Quality Assurance Manager at SGS Inspection Services in Lattakia, Syria plus a business advisor, Bin-Hatem Holding Group, Bangkok, Thailand.
Lena hold a BA, English, Basra University (Iraq) and an MA, International Relations, Webster University (USA), and a MBGPH and PhD from AUSN. She is married to Leonard H. Le Blanc III. Their children are Lujane Jasmin and Leonard IV. I am extremely happy to have this unique opportunity to obtain a MHA degree from AUSN. I believe my parents would be proud of me. I am very happy to give back to others.
Manuel Lozano Rodríguez, MSSPD, PhD, CEEGH (Spain)
I completed my Ph.D. at AUSN after I graduated with my Master of Science in Sustainability, Peace and Development, MSSPD. I have Iberian-Basque, Sephardic Jewish and Nordic roots and live in Barcelona, Spain. My enrollment in AUSN has greatly increased my self-awareness and has made me far more proficient in many fields, like bioethics, theory of justice, public health and, critical anthropology. My conscience on the importance of tolerance improves with the daily contact with outstanding professionals from around the world.
AUSN has a true socially fair access program that is no second to the most famous universities. There is a high ratio of professors to students, and high attendance of university professors as pupils. Let’s all enjoy the learning, join the classes, and be perseverant. I continue to study because there is so much to learn.
Zehra Edisan, PhD (Turkey)
Zehra is Assistant Professor and Chair of Harran University School of Medicine, Department of History of Medicine and Medical Ethics in Sanlıurfa, Turkey. She’s vice president of Clinical Research Local Ethics Committe of the university.
She’s a physiotherapist and received a masters (Harran University) and doctoral (Cukurova University) degree in History of Medicine and Medical Ethics. She worked as a phyisotherapist at university hospitals and private physical therapy clinics for aproximately fifteen years.
Her primary interests are disability ethics studies, quality of life, health care ethics, communication skills in health care and cross-cultural issues in bioethics. She’s a member of the Turkish Bioethics Association.
Currently she follows the lectures from the MBGPH course at American University of Sovereign Nations (AUSN). She thinks that this program enables people from different cultural and professional backgrounds to discuss and gain awareness on significant bioethics and public health issues. Her expectation and aim is to enhance her knowledge and get more critical thinking ability with this course.
Ariel C. Bacani, MPA, MBGPH (Philippines)
As an Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences of the same university for 9 years, I teach Philippine History, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Politics, Government and Philippine Constitution. I am srving as the Chairman of Social Sciences Department for 5 years already, I am also a Faculty of the Political Science Program and handles Fundamentals of Political Science, Politics and Philippine Constitution, Local Government, Public Administration, Human Relations, Geopolitics, Comparative Politics and Current Political Problems.
I am a graduate of Political Science, Master of Public Administration and took up units in Bachelor of Law in Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation. I aim to conduct studies that will concentrate on the analysis of the implementation of local and international laws concerning cultures and traditions of different societies. With the end view of translating these researches into policies preserving human dignity and human rights. I find my enrollment in the PhD program of AUSN an avenue to achieve my career and research agenda because it gives me a chance to broaden my perspective as I encounter people with diverse cultures and professions.
Joella Estrada, RN, CNN, MAN, MBGPH (Philippines)
I am the University Research Coordinator in Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation where I graduated with a BS in Nursing and Master of Arts in Nursing. I served as an Assistant Professor in the Natural Sciences Department of the College of Arts and Sciences and now I am teaching Research Methodology for Allied Health courses.
As a nurse, I specialized in Nephrology. While as a researcher, my concentrations are financial risk protection, health impact assessment, social determinants of health and structural inequities and water quality assessment. Further, I am presently appointed as the Regional Technical Assistance Partner for the eHATID (eHealth Tablet for Informed-Decision Making of LGUs) LGU Project, a national project funded by Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and implemented by the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).
I attended the 16th Asian Bioethics Conference and experienced recognizing not just the needs of the global community but also the ethical issues embedded in it with the scholarly papers that were presented. This greatly inspired me as a nurse and a researcher whose interest is on social justice specifically, in promoting health equity. I will be one with AUSN in voicing a dedicated commitment towards promoting academic excellence, encouraging pursuit of truth and social justice, and increasing the awareness of public health as a public good and a fundamental right.
Dennis L. Alfaro, MA (the Philippines)
I am currently the head of the Information and Communications Technology Department of St. Paul University Quezon City, Philippines. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Master of Arts in Education major in Administration and Supervision and Master of Science in Computer Science. I am also a Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Technology Associate and Cisco Certified Network Associate. Aside from the Administration work, I am also a part time instructor at St. Paul University Quezon City and St. Paul University Manila in the Philippines. I teach Information Ethics, Data Security, Computer Forensics, Systems Administration and an advocate of Cybersecurity. Currently I am enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in Bioethics Program of American University of Sovereign Nations AUSN.
Aside from the professional stuff, I also spend time doing some non-technical activities. I love to play the guitar and drums, used to be a wild bird photographer, a mostly I love the outdoors.
Dr. Erfen Gustiawan Suwangto, MD, JD, LLM. (Indonesia)
Erfen is Ph.D student of AUSN in Bioethics, Sustainability, and Global Public Health. Erfen is a lecturer of health law and primary care in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia and secretary of Medical Research Ethics Committee at the university. He is visiting lecturer for postgraduate medical students in University of Indonesia and Gadjah Mada University.
He is involved in Indonesia Health Ministry Workteam of Primary Care Development and Medical Ethics Honorary Board of Indonesian Medical Association in Jakarta. Erfen is also the first Director of Atma Jaya Institute for Networking Development of Primary Care Clinics which is managing clinics in Jakarta and its suburbs. These clinics are not only serving health matters, but also empowering students and people around with various kinds of activity.
He was awarded an Australian Awards Fellowship by Australian Government to study primary care development in Flinders University. He is also a member of World Association for Medical Law and Chief Representative of Indonesia in Young Doctors Movement (suborganization of World Organization of Family Doctors). He becomes chief of organizational affair of Indonesia Association of Family Medicine and legal consultant of Cooperation Body of Indonesia Association of Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Community Medicine, and Public Health. In his spare time, he is also an active volunteer of Lions Club International and National Democratic Organization for Health Professionals.
Mr. Wijdan Adnan Issa (Iraq/Belgium)
I received my BA in Sports Training and a MSC in Physical Education both from Basrah University, Iraq. I had almost completed my Ph.D. in Bio- Mechanics when Gulf War II (GWII) intervened. My work experience had been an Instructor of Physical Education at Basrah University. I also helped supervise graduate students in Physical Education research. I was also a trainer of the Basrah University tennis team.
Later I worked as an Instructor of Athletics at Tishreen University in Syria. I published six academic articles on Physical Education and attended two scientific conferences on Physical Education. Currently I am a graduate student at AUSN in the Ph.D. program and am a refugee living in Belgium.
Ryo Takahashi, Ph.D., Ph.D. (Japan)
Ryo Takahashi is Professor at Sendai University. Director of Center for Gerontology at the Nippon Care-Fit Service Institute. He is a fellow of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities and a member of Association for Gerontology in Higher Education which is associated with Gerontology Society of America. Ryo wants to empower all people’s talents and individual values by collaborative studying of death education. His current goal is to establish Leonardo da Vinci Center for Gerontology by creating unlimited networking with good people with interdisciplinary area throughout the world for life long development of persons with all kind of disabilities and all ages. He believes that Art is whole human life for total learning process.
Ryo is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Leadership, Education, Wisdom, and Resilience Program. He completed his PhD in Bioethics at AUSN, as well are serving as a clinical professor at the AUSN. Ryo has lived in the US for graduate work at University of Utah. Moreover, Ryo has lived in India as Director of AU-NCSA Center for Gerontology at Andhra University. This experience concluded into Ryo’s life by the words of Rabindranath Tagore gave lectures titled “MAN” at the Andhara University in Visakhapatnam on December 8-10 in 1933. “By the Lord, “You have to live a hundred years, you must act,” Fulfill your hundred years of life by work, such work as can truly be claimed through belief and result to express the truth of (Soham) “I am He.” Not by turning up one’s eye-balls and sitting with closed breath and staying far away from man do we gain this Truth. This work, this toil is not for earning livelihood.” This work should contribute for the world peace, particularly toward the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The main aim of the Olympics is unified spiritual, national heritage and remove racial belief, honor, poets and writer have chance to express themselves to large audience, seen as festival, have peace, remove social evils. 2020 must be the first line of real no discrimination of all nations, kindred, tongues, and people for working and helping together for peace and harmony through KIGATSUKU SOUL. Kigatsuku means “an inner spirit to act without being told what to do .” SOUL can be grown by See, Observe, Understand, and Listen to learn each other toward to 2030. The aim is set for putting poverty in museum by 2030 as Professor Muhammad Yunus stated in his vision by creating new world. In order to achieve such vison it has to going back to fundamental roots of human beings. It is important to searching real history of roots of each country of tribal heritage including indigenous people including Ainu people in mainly Hokkaido, Japan.

Tarana Ahmed, MBGPH (Bangladesh)
Tarana is the Managing Director of Technochic Ltd. and develop application database programs to process data of needs assessment study for Computerized Management Information Systems. She also monitors the preparation of maps related to these data using GIS & PopMap for various projects. She have to look after the preparation of all project proposals and overall management of the company. She has directorship of the company named CNGWorld which convert generator, car, truck, bus in CNG from diesel. She completed her MSc. In Zoology (Fisheries) Under Dhaka University in 1991; and a Diploma in Software Technology and Training courses in UNIX, LINUX, C, C++, HTML, XTML, FoxPro & Networking from CMC LTD, Sept. 2001.
She has memberships of Bangladesh Bioethics Society (BBS), Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BWCCI), Member of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Member of Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS), Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Owners’ Association.
She wants to help the children who are neglected, so she started a free primary school for them in Savar named “Chand Primary School”. Her aim in life is to protect nature for ourselves and our future generations.
Margaret Columba M Baylon, MBGPH (the Philippines)
Margaret graduated with a BS in Accountancy in 2015. All the knowledge, skills and experiences gained have been applied as her services were commissioned by the Nautical Institute Philippine Branch and the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers (PAEPI). She was awarded youth leadership award for her meritorious and invaluable services by reputable organizations like Nautical Institute Philippine branch and PAEPI. She also served as a web designer and event organiser for Nautical Institute and the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers. She cherished all the experiences knowledge, skills and most especially the friendships gained all these years. She passed the CPA Board examination and graduated from AUSN MGPH. She is enrolled in the PhD degree program of AUSN and will apply the knowledge learned.
Dr. Leonard Le Blanc III MBGPH, PhD, MSTS, MA, CEEGH (USA)
Len Le Blanc is General Manager, SEATE Services in Bangkok, Thailand. The firm is the Internet sales agent for the White Lotus Press. SEATE Services provides Arabic-English translations plus English-language proofreading and editing. Len is a retired US Naval Reserves Lieutenant Commander. He has written articles for TIME Magazine and authored four books. Additionally Len manages the Afghanistan-based Helmand Doll Project which contracts local women to handcraft ethnic dolls for re-sale. A portion of the proceeds goes back to fund charitable projects in Afghanistan and other Third World countries.
Len holds a BS, Geography, Kansas State University (USA); BA, History, The University of the State of New York (USA); BS, Individualized Studies, Charter Oak State College (USA), and two MAs, Management and International Relations, Webster University (USA). He is also enrolled for an MA, Liberal Studies, Excelsior College (USA). He is married to the former Lena Adnan Issa al-Shareeda. Their children are Lujane Jasmin and Leonard IV. Graduating from AUSN MBGPH and PhD degrees is the culmination of a life-long dream to be of important service to others in the vital fields of Bioethics and Global Public Health. The need will continue to grow exponentially so I’m very happy to participate in it. He is now pursuing his Masters in Sustainability Science.
