Agencia de Acreditación para Universities of Sovereign Nations
The Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations is an international agency to accredite institutions of higher learning and degrees that are issued by institutions of higher learning.
There is no charge to make an initial inquiry, and our commissioners not only assist in the evaluation of institutions to receive our seal of accreditation, but will also help institutions in their pursuit of excellence.
Our commissioners serve, or have served, as University Vice-Chancellors, Presidents, United Nations officials, government ministry officials, military service members, industry leaders, and work for various national and international accreditation bodies, including the World Bank, UNESCO, FAO, WHO, Ministries of Education, as well as serving national and international professional bodies and agencies.
Summary of the Accreditation Process:
1) Please submit the initial inquiry form in Word/PDF to: Dr. Darryl Macer, Chair, Accreditation Commission, Email: accreditation@ausn.info
2) A response from Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations, which will include an initial response, information on fees, further details of submission, a timeline, and schedule an initial conversation.
3) Agreement of details, scope of the work, dates and fees. Please refer to the Accreditation Process and Forms page for the procedures and forms.
4) Submission of documents and a request from the institution for an inital Mapping and Consultation site visit from 1-2 Commissioners of Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations, in order to prepare the institution for the formal accreditation examination visit.
5) The initial visit will include mutual agreement on the timeline leading to a future formal accreditation examination review.
6) Formal accreditation examination visit by 2-3 commisioners.
7) When the institution is accredited it is then issued the Official Seal of Accreditation as a member of Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations for an initial three-year period.
8) This is normally renewed for three-year periods at the time of the Renewal Visit.
Membership will be suspended if the institution fails to maintain its standards, with due process, and the right of an appeal.
Please refer to the Accreditation Process and Forms page for the procedures, fees and forms.
What Accreditation Can do for Your Institution?
Institutions that are accredited members of the Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations have the following benefits:
1) Accreditation will enhance your University ranking nationally and internationally.
2) Accreditation will lead to increased satisfaction among student and staff and less complaints.
3) External review through the accreditation process can help you better achieve your institutional mission.
4) Specifically we are an international mobility accreditation agency, accredited members agree to reciprocal exchange agreements not just within one country but across the world. This means that if an institution agrees to recognise the course credit of a student gained in another accredited member of Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations (e.g. a two year college graduate), other members will reciprocally recognise the course credit of another member (those two years of study) for the good of the student. This students may transfer (subject to having appropriate grades) to enter the third year of a undergraduate program in another member. Students who graduate with a Bachelors degree from one institution, can enter to a postgraduate degree program of another member. Students may also join in exchange programs for a semester or a year for example.
(Members who do not recognise the course qualifications of another member will not receive this automatic reciprocal exchange for international mobility, but can of course enter into their own bilateral agreements. )
Who we are?
Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations is a non-aligned and de-colonized Accreditation Agency that provides accreditation for colleges, universities and research institutes anywhere in the world.
Getting accredited requires curriculum developers to demonstrate that the content of their curricula comply with internationally recognized standards of quality for best practices and content.
Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations will assist organizations to formally document that their processes are effectively implemented and regularly monitored to optimise education according to the mission of the institution. This will enhance the effectiveness and reputation of your institution.
Generally our accreditation review process will be conducted in English, but documentation can also be provided in Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil and Thai. We will make accommodation for work in other languages, so before incurring the expense of translating documents into English please consult with us on the actual requirements.

Rationale and Requirements
Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations exists to enhance the global rediscovery and teaching of knowledge from all wisdom traditions. This does not mean your institution needs to offer courses from every wisdom tradition, in fact, some communities wish to focus on their unique wisdom contributions and we respect that. That is the true meaning of "sovereign", that an institution is sharing values that it holds to be fundamental to the nature of their community.
No matter what your ideology there are still basic elements of the formulation of curriculum, assessment of faculty and student learning, methods to enhance learning, that will enhance the performance of an institution, and maximise the potential of faculty and learners, to achieve the missions of your institution.
We established this Agency after noticing the failures of many accreditation bodies to work with logic and intercultural respect. For example here are some questions steming from real cases:
In our modern age we deserve something better, hence we at Accredited Universities of Sovereign Nations have created something new. We generally work with institutions for institutional accreditation, although we note that some institutions will have programs which are working well and others which have more challenges to overcome. An institution may decide to retain a degree or vocational program even with only one student that is not independent financially sustainable due to ideological reasons - because of the need to continue a tribal, ethnic, cultural, social and/or historical tradition - we understand, and not every program in a University needs to be run as a business.
The bodies to accredit a University degree vary between countries. In some only a Government Act can establish a University. In others it is an Educational Council, or a third-party accreditation agency. The ranking of a university affects the funding that it receives from the government, or what it can attract from donors. The ranking affects the calibre of the faculty and students that are attracted. Ultimately the best measure of accreditation is the success of the alumni of an organization - and it is our mission to enhance every institution's achievement of its mission as measured through its graduates.
We are not affiliated with any government, any industry, any sovereign nation, nor any political or religious ideology - our seal of accreditation is one of independence and international excellence.
