Joint AUSN-Tohoku University Bioethics RoundtableS


Ongoing project: Legacies of Love, Peace and Hope: How Education can overcome Hatred and Divide, a response to the 2019 terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand.

We will take a positive and constructive attitude to cross-cultural bioethics, which is needed in light of the afronts to the value of life that our world is experiencing. We invite you to submit a 300 word abstract in English.

 

The First Joint AUSN-Tohoku University Bioethics Roundtable: Cross-Cultural Bioethics in a Broken World was held in Sendai, Japan, 24-27 August 2019.

Sessions were held as follows:

24 August (9:00-18:00 in Tohuku University Medical School, Dept. of Medical Ethics)
25 August (9:00-18:00 in Tohuku University Medical School, Dept. of Medical Ethics)
26 August, group cultural tour to Matsushima and coastal area [via local train and walking; Please note that Matsushima is considered one of the 3 must see natural wonders of Japan, and it is recovered following the tsunami)
27 August, group cultural tour to sights around Sendai
